Some Insights Reveal Their Impact Only a Week Later

April 23, 2026

A week after the padagility event at Garage33, one idea keeps proving useful: positivity as an inner stance in tense situations.

I share this because collaboration quality is often shaped more by mindset than method. The SCARF model gives me a practical lens for staying constructive under pressure.

Some insights only reveal their real impact after a bit of distance.

One week later, certain impulses no longer just sound right. They become actionable.

I am part of the padagility community. It is not only about agility and networking, but about genuine exchange and new perspectives.

That is exactly what the padagility event at Garage33 in Paderborn felt like. Armin Schubert’s talk was already a week behind us, and that timing made its relevance even clearer to me.

Positivity as a stance in tense situations

A few days ago, I was in a room with noticeable tension. No open conflict, but that specific feeling: something is off.

And suddenly the topic of positivity was back. Not as “making everything look nice”, but as an inner stance:

  • How do I enter a room?
  • What assumptions do I make about others?

Since then, I have observed myself more consciously, especially when situations begin to tilt. When I become impatient internally or shut down.

Using the SCARF model as a mirror

In those moments, the SCARF model is a practical mirror for me:

  • Status - do I feel seen?
  • Certainty - is clarity missing?
  • Autonomy - do I have room to act?
  • Relatedness - does the connection still hold?
  • Fairness - does it feel fair?

It is not a recipe. But it is a strong lens when positivity is missing, in others or in myself.

One sentence has stayed with me:

Assume by default that people want something positive.

And for difficult moments, another one:

Please help me understand your positive intention.

Not easy. But surprisingly effective.

Thanks to Elena, Frank, and Tobias for the excellent organization of the padagility community, to Garage33 in Paderborn, and especially to Armin for the strong impulses. I am looking forward to seeing everyone again in Paderborn soon.
